Music Changes the World!

We’ve been talking on our social media channels this week about how music changes the world and how music has changed our worlds, individually, as well. Nobel Prize Winner Malala Yousafzai graduated from high school last week, and even as a young student Malala had the right idea. “One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.” Sometimes that child is a young musician, that teacher is a band director, that book is a score, and that pen writes something that lives Continue reading →

Make Children’s Music!

On the first day of summer, we hosted 3 guest artists in our Burbank location for Make Music LA 2017 and we had a wonderful time. First up, Suns of Cali gave us a nice set of original songs and covers which was really special! Here is a taste: Then our own Abby Lyons treated us to some songs from her eponymous CD! Abby is terrific and we also congratulate her on her LA launch last Friday night! Here she is with a song too Continue reading →

Why Is a Clarinet Like a Bicycle?

Made you think! Why is a Clarinet like a bicycle? You might be surprised! No, I didn’t reread “Alice in Wonderland” this weekend. And no I don’t know why a raven is like a writing desk. Yes, it’s been October for a while now, but time can get away from us when we are very busy! Rental season has slowed down, but we are still getting calls for instruments from private and parochial schools every day. It’s not too late to rent a band or orchestra instrument for this year and start your musical journey! We are decorating for Halloween and plan to be ready for trick-or-treaters this year Friday-Monday of Halloween weekend. We might even be in costume on Monday, Continue reading →

Now the fall has really begun and most of our customers have been playing for a few weeks. “Hot Cross Buns” is old news and some of you are probably trying out some Halloween tunes. We would love to hear how you are doing with your Continue reading →
